With Support from Innovation Fund Denmark

Grand Solutions is the program by Innovation Fund Denmark which has supported Nordisk Staal in creating their new powder solution. This solution has been developed in close collaboration with The Technical University of Denmark (DTU), LEGO and other large international industrial giants as associated partners. The goal has been to develop a new and stronger metal powder for Additive Manufacturing – a manufacturing technology where items are built up layer upon layer, such as 3D printing. Nordisk Staal has previously manufactured steel parts via a spray-forming technique. The new product is produced from excess metal powder formed during this production technique and thus also taps in to notions of circular economy and reuse of waste materials.

Internationalizing New Innovations

Danish Cleantech Hub in Münich and New York are now working together with The Nordisk Staal Group to explore international opportunities for their new steel powder solution. The new high quality powder is likely to be very useful for international industrial sectors with 3D prints tools and machine parts. This collaboration has been made possible by the Access Cities project.
